To stream the smartphone screen to a TV, both your smartphone and TV must support the Miracast feature. Miracasta? Some may wonder what that means.
What is Miracast?
Miracast is a technology that allows your smartphone screen to mirror the display on the TV or large display. Today's Android smartphones, iPhones and BlackBerry phones all support Miracast. So now wireless streaming is becoming much easier. If your TV does not support Miracast, you can use Miracast Dongle.
How to stream a smartphone to your smart TV
* Go to Settings of your smartphone and click on Bluetooth & device connection.
* Choose any of the options now displayed: Cast/screen mirroring / Cast screen / Wireless display.
* By clicking on the option above, your mobile will recognize the Miracast-enabled TV or dongle and display it on the screen.
* For example Mi Tv will display the name of the device next to the connection.
* Click the name of the device displayed on the screen to start the connection.
* If the connection is successful, you can copy content from your smartphone to SmartTV.
* Click the Disconnect option to disconnect.
* Connect your phone to your smart TV and stream it whenever you want according to this method.
Important Note
Both your smartphone and your smart TV must be connected to the same WiFi network for wireless streaming. If you do not have a WiFi connection in your home, you can turn on the hotspot on your mobile and connect your TV to that network for streaming.
